Is there a reason bad NBA teams seems to hire and fire coaches more than good teams? The answer may be obvious, but the trend continues. Does the coach really make much of a difference or is it all about talent? Professor Dave Berri, of Southern Utah University, is among a group that published “The Role of Managers in Team Performance” . To further back up the research, Berri uses a recent comment by former coach and current television analyst, Jeff Van Gundy, who agrees the role of a coach is minimal to a team’s success and how any coach needs talent to win and without talent, it may not matter who is charge on the bench.
